Testimonials

Christopher Cooke
Attorney at Law

“Ron Smolarski did a great job calculating the economic damages from the perspectives of lost economic opportunity and life care planning in a product liability and degloving amputation case. His expertise allowed the jury to understand the degree and extent of my client’s severe injuries, rendering a verdict of $27 million that compensated my client for his damages. Ron made himself available after hours during the course of the trial to answer my questions, which was very beneficial to the success of the case.”

George E. Potter
Attorney at Law

“Ron’s assistance in helping me prepare cross-examination was superb. He provided the most thorough job of evaluation I’ve ever seen from any rehabilitation consultant and made a major difference when it came to destroying my adversary’s case.”

Geoffrey Rettig
Attorney at Law

“Analysis was very in-depth. The depth was what made the difference. It made the case viable in the eyes of the skeptical adjuster. A true expert in his field. Unbiased and objective.”

J. Dallas Winegarden, Jr.
Attorney at Law

“Mr. Smolarski’s powerful presentation makes the case try itself as far as damages are concerned. He’s a superb Expert Witness.”

Wendy Schiller-Nichols
Attorney at Law

“Mr. Smolarski made a difference in my case that settled for over a million dollars. He was very experienced, professional, and testified well. I would definitely use him again in the future in my personal injury cases.”

Our Methodology & Process

As a professional life care planner in Michigan, Mr. Smolarski uses Standards of Practice for Life Care Planners, ensuring the total satisfaction of our clients.

Here’s a summary of our life care planning process.

Mr. Smolarski begins the life care planning process with an evaluee intake, which takes 1-3 hours, and can be conducted in the evaluee’s geographical area of residence or in Ann Arbor, MI.

Based on the intake, the medical and non-medical items needed, along with the frequency, duration, and purpose of each item is shared with the treating Doctor of Physical Medicine, therapist, and/or other medical professionals, who then respond with agreement or collaborative modifications.

Costs are then researched based on the evaluee’s geographic location. In addition to costs, Mr. Smolarski provides the recommending professional, resources, and calculations for each item to provide a transparent outline of medical damages. The cost determination can take from 5-50 hours depending on the severity of the medical diagnosis.

A good rule of thumb for the time it takes to prepare a life care plan from start to finish for most catastrophic cases is three months. However, medical projections can be completed in less time.

The Importance of Life Care Planning

For legal plaintiff and defense lawyers, life care planning provides invaluable information that is essential to defend the interests of their clients or claimants. It improves the credibility of their case and facilitates fair compensation for the damages sustained as a result of the injury.

Ultimately, the integration of a life care plan or medical projection enhances the efficiency and fairness of the forensic evaluation, ensuring appropriate outcomes for all parties involved.
