Testimonials

Timothy Heath
Attorney at Law

“A Chicago suburban man who had parts of his intestines removed after an untreated abdominal infection was awarded $49 million in a medical malpractice verdict in Cook County Circuit Court. Mr. Smolarski was the Life Care Planner. He provided a life care plan, including a particularly good description of what was going on with our client and what was going to be needed for care and treatment. Ron’s reports were very thorough. He conducted this skill set, which included extra work under rushed conditions – this was extremely helpful. Further, Ron provided consultations with our doctors involved in the case.”

Richard J. Pendergast
Attorney at Law

“I had the pleasure of working with Ronald Smolarski in connection with a case which involved a patient with Cerebral Palsy, along with a multitude of complex cognitive deficits. Mr. Smolarski gave an excellent comprehensive assessment of our client’s long-term needs and the costs corresponding thereto. Mr. Smolarski has a broad base of experience in rehabilitation, economics, and life care planning. His experience, his work product, and his willingness to accommodate schedules and deadlines made him a true asset to our case. I would highly recommend his services.”

George Brugess and Cogan Power
Attorneys at Law

“Ron helped us on a catastrophic injury case involving a young man with bilateral leg amputation. Ron was thorough in his analysis of the future medical needs of my client. At trial, Ron was excellent in explaining to the jury the damages suffered. As a result of Ron’s hard work, the jury returned an Illinois record verdict in a FELA case.”

Wendy Schiller-Nichols
Attorney at Law

“Mr. Smolarski made a difference in my case that settled for over a million dollars. He was very experienced, professional, and testified well. I would definitely use him again in the future in my personal injury cases.”

Our Methodology & Process

At Beacon Rehab, our methodologies are based on the highest industry standards.

Here’s a summary of our process.

Beacon Rehabilitation’s life care planning process begins with a thorough intake session, which can last from one to three hours, the duration of this session may change depending on the severity of the individual’s condition.

In most cases, these sessions are conducted in the evaluee’s geographical area of residence, as our equipment is fully portable. However, the evaluee may opt for conducting the session in our location in Ann Arbor, MI.

This intake involves determining the necessary medical and non-medical items, their frequency, duration, and purpose, which are then shared with the treating physician or therapist for validation and/or collaborative modification.

Costs are then meticulously researched based on the evaluee’s geographical location. The time required to determine the costs can vary from 5 hours to 50 hours depending on the severity of the diagnosis.

As a rule of thumb, the entire process can take about three months. Medical projections can take less time.

The Importance of Life Care Planning
